Cusco, undoubtedly, is the most prominent tourist destination in Peru, offering a wealth of attractions beyond Machu Picchu. One of these treasures is the Waqrapukara fortress, recognized as Cultural Heritage of the Nation, a historical site that contributes significantly to the richness and importance of the country's pre-Hispanic history.

The tour begins with pickup at the hotel at 05:00 am, heading south of Cusco to Chuquicahuana, where we will detour to the Province of Acomayo. On the way, we will make a stop to appreciate the Pomacanchi Lagoon, the second largest lagoon in the region.

Continuing our trip, we will arrive at the community of Sangarará, where we will enjoy breakfast. Then, we will go to the pass from where we will begin the walk to Waqrapukara, lasting approximately 2 hours. During this walk, we will have the opportunity to admire the diversity of flora and fauna typical of the area.

In Waqrapukara, we will receive a guided tour exploring different sectors such as the INTIPUNKU (gate of the sun), the main square, the towers, the terraces, the Wiracocha enclosure and the rock paintings.

After visiting Waqrapukara, we will return to Sangarará to enjoy a comforting lunch. Finally, we will return to Cusco, estimating to arrive around 6:30 p.m. This tour offers an enriching experience that goes beyond conventional tourist routes, exploring the history and natural beauty of the region.
