HUCHUY QOSQO, known as "Little Cusco", represents the most significant archaeological complex in the Urubamba Valley, being surpassed in importance only by Ollantaytambo and Pisac.
The tour begins with hotel pickup, scheduled between 6:30 and 6:45 am, and officially begins at 7:00 am. The first stop takes us to the picturesque town of Chinchero, where we can see extensive fields of crops with a rich history dating back to ancient times. We continue along the shores of the Piuray lagoon towards the community of Tauca, located 3762 meters above sea level, the starting point for our walk.
Following a dirt path with a gentle slope, we ascend to the Pucajasa pass, located 4,393 meters above sea level. From this point, we are offered a spectacular view of the Urubamba mountain range, with the Pucajasa Pass extending for about 200 meters. We descend below, encountering sections of the ancient Inca trail and experiencing notable changes in ecological levels.
Upon arriving at Huchuy Qosqo, located 3,688 meters above sea level, we enjoyed a snack during our trip. After a short descent, we explore the archaeological complex before descending to the village of Lamay, 2938 meters above sea level, where a comforting lunch awaits us. Finally, we return to the city of Cusco in our transportation, concluding the tour around 6:00 pm with return to your hotel in Cusco.
